Today was a balancing act between personal projects and professional gigs…all under a gorgeous wildfire sky.

Prep Project

Been playing around with various workflows. Adjusted a Bootstrap/Gulp/Bower dev project. Not impressed, though I know I enjoy Gulp.

Still not the greatest fan of how time consuming these automated/configured builds are but I guess it’s good to practice different ones over and over again.

Surprised to learn I’m becoming more and more of a PHP “framework” type of person, though just a year ago I would have sworn by JS. Angular and React don’t attract me in the same way Laravel, does. Maybe it’s all just marketing and perception. Either way, I’m going to go back to figuring out Laravel and GuzzleHttp tomorrow for the Spot the Docs app.

Client Site

The website is coming together, nicely. Blocked on content but having fun customizing WordPress.

  • new widget section (sidebar register)
  • template parts
  • adjusted architecture of information flow based on new concepts provided by client
  • subscription banner prep

Additional Client Site

Preliminary research for another gig. I’m amazed at how old this website is. Took lots of screenshots and notes.

I forgot how fun freelance development is!
